Today we commemorate the Indonesian women who
pioneered by R.A Kartini but we also have to trace the history of the struggle
- the struggle of other great women , which means that before Kartini many
Indonesian women who have an important role in the movement and the struggle
against Dutch colonialism . And there are many Indonesian women whose role
beyond the role of Kartini .
And the woman which is ideal to make an icon of the
struggle and the spirit of the struggle of women is Siti Aisyah We Tenriolle a
Datu ' Or Queen of South Sulawesi who ruled the kingdom of Tanette.
Maybe our ears are still very unfamiliar with the name of Book I La Galigo , or maybe even never heard of at all . Though the Book of I La Galigo is the longest book in the world and is recognized as one of the world's literary heritage . Books written about age 13-15 is about the love story of the main character and its Sawerigading customs Bugis community at a time when it is implied therein kingdom of Gowa , Tallo and Bone therein.
Book I La Galigo is written in the ancient Bugis that not everyone can understand it . Only certain people can understand the ancient Bugis literature , namely the intellectuals and the Bugis kingdom Prijajis attention to the literary world . This book was written with the letter lontara ' , the letter ancient Bugis very different from the Latin alphabet that we know today . from this woman who collected the i Lagaligo to be sticking and is known by the community to the international level.
Not only smart and clever in Literature but also he is very good at the areas of governance and field pendidikan.dan this woman managed to establish a school for the people. The school is not intended only for men but also women.
Although the curriculum is still very simple , just reading, writing and arithmetic but at that time there was very great. Because of the time girls are not in school this woman character who first founded the school which accepts pupils son and daughter in one class . and have succeeded in realizing equal rights to education for men and women long before Kartini was born . These women just want people to get an education , not excluding women.
But it is unfortunate Indonesian citizens are not informed about this woman or that they had never heard him so very meritorious to raise the dignity and the degree of the women and rescuers Literature Indonesian people , especially South Sulawesi .And the name had nothing left now lost .
